“Here, sir, please help,” the workers there shout, while a little girl lies on the ground, completely burned.

First responders reported this Friday that the owners of the fireworks shop did not allow them to enter to put out the fire and visualize the magnitude of the explosion.

However, this Saturday, a video circulated on social networks, showing the moment when a little girl, approximately 5 years old, was found completely burned and lying on the ground, with no one helping her. This while the people who worked at the place run dazed everywhere.

This Friday, May 10, for unestablished reasons, an explosion occurred inside a fireworks shop located at kilometer 42, Las Nubes sector, in the Sacsuy village, San Juan Sacatepéquez.

The Volunteer Firefighters treated eight people with burns on different parts of the body, transporting them in several ambulances to the Roosevelt Hospital. Additionally, seven people received care at the scene and went to the local health center on their own.

The people transferred to Roosevelt Hospital, mostly members of a family, were identified as: Eddy Agustín Canel Boror, 8 years old; Cristian Fernando Canel Top, 6; Sandra Canel Boror, 5; Marta Estela Canel Boror, 6; Gabriel Coc Puluc, 21; Hermenegildo Coc Suruy, 47; Agustín Canel Top, 41; María Marta Boror Chitay, 39.

Unfortunately, family members confirmed this Saturday the death of Fredy Oswaldo Coc Rompich, 10 years old, who was a fifth grade student at the Sacsuy school.

In addition, two of the patients admitted to Roosevelt Hospital, a minor and an adult, are in critical condition due to the severity of their injuries.
