A student of higher education institution (HEIs) was killed in an accident involving three vehicles at Kilometer (KM) 125.1 South North Expressway near Yong Peng, on Wednesday.

According to Batu Pahat District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah, the accident involved a Perodua Bezza car, a scania trailer and a Proton Waja car.

"Initial investigations revealed that the accident was believed to have occurred at 7pm on Wednesday, when the Perodua Bezza-type car was hit by two UTHM male students (University of Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia), Pagoh, who were 20 and 21 years old respectively, violated the back of the trailer truck a scania type guided by a 28 -year -old man.

"The collision caused, the Perodua Bezza car crashed into a roadblock before a 65 -year -old Proton Waja car coming from the same direction (Johor Bahru headed to Kuala Lumpur), not being able to brake (stopping vehicles) and then hit the Perodua Bezza car.

"As a result, Perodua Bezza's front passenger was killed at the scene while a trailer truck driver was injured and sent to Muar Hospital for further treatment," he said in a statement on Thursday.
