The infamous Porsche driver who filmed four cops dying on the side of the road remains on the run from police - but has virtually attended a court hearing.
Richard Pusey, 45, who uses they/them pronouns, has been at large since November after two warrants were issued for contravening court orders.
He did, however, dial into a Victoria Supreme Court hearing via video chat on Wednesday morning as he appeals against a guilty verdict stemming from late 2022.
Pusey was found guilty of using a carriage service to cause offence and sentenced to 10 months in jail for sending graphic photos of dying police officers to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority after his insurance company refused to indemnify his 2016 Porsche 911 in the wake of the 2020 Eastern Freeway truck crash.
When the court asked him to turn on his camera so that they could see him on Wednesday, Pusey refused to do so.
Pusey then apologised to the court for incorrectly filing paperwork in relation to his appeal.
Judicial Registrar Martin Keith informed Pusey that he sent documents to the County Court instead of the Magistrates' Court like he should have.
'Ah, is that the wrong one, sir? I did request … a hearing to make sure everything was on file that's correct, so we don't waste time here today,' Pusey said. according to the Herald Sun.
'But what would I know? I'm just a dumb-dumb.
'I apologise for being born. Can I go now and find some medication and a glass barbecue and get my head right?'
Pusey added that he could amend the paperwork within two weeks for the court.
