Cop kills murder suspect after he kill his wife and lead them on pursuit (Infos)
Description

Victim, suspect in NW OKC homicide, officer-involved shooting identified

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Update: The Oklahoma Department of Corrections has said the victim in the first shooting, Caleea Broadus, was a corporal for the department.

Broadus had been working for ODOC since July 2018 after discharging from the U.S. Army.

ODOC said she was working at the Oklahoma City Community Corrections Center where support staff will be at hand to help her coworkers cope with her death.

“Cpl. Broadus had a bright future in corrections,” ODOC Interim-Director Scott Crow said. “After less than a year with our agency, she had already promoted from correctional officer to corporal."

“She was a dedicated, loyal team member to her coworkers,” Crow said. “Whenever the facility needed someone to pick up a shift, she would volunteer – no matter the time or day.”

Update: Police have identified both the victim in the initial homicide and the suspect involved in the police shooting.

The victim shot and killed at a home on the 12000 block of Stonecrest Ln is 33-year-old Caleena Broadus.

Police say the suspect, Quentin Broadus, Caleea's husband, shot and killed the victim during a fight.

Officers said they were able to locate Quentin and attempted to stop him as he was leaving the area.

Quentin refused to stop according to police and led officers on a pursuit through NW Oklahoma City for approximately 20 minutes.

The pursuit ended near NW 120th Ct and Warwick Dr. when Quentin got out of his still moving car pointing a gun at officers.

“Officers knew from the beginning that there was a gun involved and a shooting had occurred and the victim was ultimately deceased at the scene. So you have to take extreme caution when trying to stop a suspect involved in that type of crime,” said Captain Larry Withrow

Six officers fired their guns hitting Quentin Broadus police said. Broadus was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Those six officers involved are Sergeant Chad pickle, Sergeant Robert Allen, Sergeant Joshua Thee, officer Clifford Beloncik, officer Erin Richards and Officer Simeon Alibrando.

OKCPD said the officers involved were not injured during the incident and have been placed on administrative leave.

Police shot a homicide suspect Monday afternoon after a police chase through Northwest Oklahoma City.

Officers say the man pulled a gun on them.

People at a nearby strip mall stood by taking videos, capturing several gunshots on camera.

"I heard several gunshots and police told me and some of the other spectators to take cover," said Bernard Mace.

Police say it started in a neighborhood NW 122nd and County Line Road.

There were called for what police called a domestic shooting where one person was dead.

That's when they found their suspect who led them on a chase through Northwest Oklahoma City for about 20 minutes.

"He was driving down the street, wasn’t driving very fast, he was casually driving," Mace said. "I didn’t really know that was the guy they were chasing, but he was the guy because they were all behind him."

It finally came to an end on MacArthur near 122nd street.

“The suspect jumped out of his vehicle, raised a gun and pointed it at officers," said Capt. Larry Withrow from the Oklahoma City Police Dept.

Six officers were involved in the shooting.

The suspect died after he was taken to the hospital.

Police say no one else was hurt, but the chase and shooting happened in a busy area.

“Wasn’t expecting to see something like this today," Mace said.

Police still have not released the names of the suspects or the person who was killed before the chase.
