A well-known businessman from Valledupar was shot dead in the Pontevedra neighborhood, in the south of the city, in an event that was recorded on the sector's security cameras. The victim was identified as Robert Cerchar Charris, 45 years old.
Regarding the deceased, it was said that he was a relative of Lucas Gnecco, former governor of Cesar, and nephew of Cielo Gnecco Cerchar, known as the matron of the most powerful clan in the department.
The crime occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 8, 2023, when Cerchar Charris got out of a truck. At that moment, an armed man ran up and shot him several times, killing him. Then, the hitman, who fled on a motorcycle driven by another individual, returned to steal a briefcase that the victim was carrying.
