The images of the accident were recorded and broadcast by a motorcyclist who was a few meters behind. The video shows how the bus with passengers inside advanced uncontrollably and then went off a curve, crashing into the side of a mountain.

The Cundinamarca Fire Department reported that the crash occurred exactly at the height of the Asturias village, in La Vega, and was heading towards an event after having left just over an hour earlier from the municipality of Tenjo, also in Cundinamarca .

Although the reasons for the road accident have not been determined , until now one of the hypotheses that the authorities are using is that the private service vehicle had run out of brakes and that is why it was unable to reduce its speed on the curve.

The impressive image of the overturn was recorded in the amateur video that was recorded by the motorcyclist and after the impact it was evident that several of the passengers were ejected due to the sales of the bus .

The authorities detailed that the vehicle belongs to the Exceltur company and it was clarified that in addition to the two deceased people, 10 passengers were treated for injuries and were referred to a local hospital .

The accident was initially attended to by the La Vega Volunteer Firefighters , who requested support from neighboring fire departments for the quick care of the people who were injured .

In addition, the accident was attended to by the Cundinamarca Emergency and Emergency Regulatory Center (Crue), the Racing Police, the National Police and an ambulance from the concession in charge of the road on which the accident occurred.

“We are attending to the accident with the help of the La Vega and Villeta Fire Department , as well as fire personnel from El Rosal and San Francisco, accompanied by Crue personnel ,” explained Captain Álvaro Farfán , commander of the Fire Department of Cundinamarca.

The traffic authorities in the department of Cundinamarca confirmed the accident of an intermunicipal bus on the road to the municipality of La Vega, which left two people dead and 22 more injured.

Subsequently, some of the passengers came out of the vehicle windows and asked for help from the residents of the area, who provided them with first aid.

The injured were sent to the Facatativá and La Vega hospitals, where they are being treated. RCN Radio learned that several of them have fractures and open wounds, due to the severity of the crash.

Captain Álvaro Farfán, departmental fire department delegate of Cundinamarca, confirmed that at least 10 of those injured in the accident are in a delicate state of health, while adding that a special team was formed to carry out investigations to clarify the causes of the accident.

At the moment, mobility in the area is totally restricted while ambulances transport the injured. Emergency organizations such as the Villeta and El Rosal firefighters are monitoring the situation and in the next few hours they will provide details of the accident.
