The tragedy happened in Erice, a town in the province of Trapani. Those present were immortalizing the moments of joy, while the celebrated Antonio Andriani was enjoying his birthday party. She had recently rented the villa and had decided to celebrate his fortieth birthday there.
Antonio stood dancing on the cover of the artesian well, surrounded by friends. The photos show that, at some point, he decided to get off and reached out for help. Unfortunately, at that precise moment, the cover of the well is route and Antonio is precipitate. Whoever was holding it tried in every way to grab it, without being able to do so.
The drama unfolded in front of the eyes of all those present and in front of the camera of that phone that wanted to capture a moment of happiness and a memory that it would have kept over the years and which, instead, was transformed into testimony of a tragedy.
After the fall, the music stopped and everyone approached the well looking for an answer from Antonio. They prayed and hoped that the water, in those 25 m of depth, would have cushioned the fall of man.
The Fire Brigade arrived on the spot in a short time, as well as the 118 rescuers. With the help of the divers, the firefighters were able to get the birthday boy out. Unfortunately Andriani was already dead. The violent fall was fatal and killed his life instantly. The body is now in the Marsala morgue, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
