A retired military police officer was shot dead in front of the house where he lived, on Friday afternoon (8), in São Vicente.

According to information gathered by Santa Portal , retired PM sergeant Gerson Antunes Lima (pictured below) , 55 years old, was sweeping the sidewalk of his residence when, around 4:20 pm, he was shot by criminals on Avenida Marechal Juarez Távora, in on the corner of Rua Francisco Dias Jorge, in the Cidade Náutica neighborhood.

Gerson was rescued by Samu and taken to the Vicentino Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries and died before reaching the hospital complex.

The report contacted the Public Security Secretariat of the State of São Paulo (SSP), which confirmed the death of the retired sergeant. In addition, according to the SSP, military police officers who responded to the incident heard from witnesses that the two criminals were in a BIZ and a CG when they shot at the police officer who was in civilian clothes.

The SSP also informs that Gerson has been inactive since 2019 and the last unit he served was in the 1st CIA of the 45th BPM/I.

He is the eighth military police officer killed in Baixada Santista since January, with seven inactive. In addition, another 12 police officers have already been injured this year in the region, eight of them on duty, three on leave and one inactive.
