A teacher and a young villager were injured following a hyena attack inside an elementary school in India.
Reports say the teacher and students were in class at the time of the events — when a hyena suddenly wandered into the school in Karnataka’s Rampura Village.
The teacher managed to lock the children to safety before confronting the beast.
Locals in the village, alerted by the screams and chaos at the school, rushed to the establishment in hopes of driving the animal away from the school.
Video shared to social media shows a villager striking the hyena with a stick, before getting overpowered by the wild mammal.
Other villagers then come to the man’s aid, striking the beast with sticks of their own, the footage shows.
The hyena finally ran back into the wild.
The injuries of both men wounded in the attack are unknown.
