A severe beating received a man who allegedly robbed an elderly person , in the Historic Center of Cuenca, in the south of the country. The stranger was cornered and kicked several times on the ground by passersby.

It happened this Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Luis Cordero and Gran Colombia streets, an area of ​​high commercial movement. The event was captured by the Video Surveillance cameras of the ECU-911 Austro Emergency Center .

In the images it is seen that the 88-year-old man walks slowly down the sidewalk, leaning on his cane. The stranger - with a hood that covered his head - was behind and a few steps later he surprised the older adult by taking his cell phone and the money he had in his pocket.

Passers-by noticed the robbery and joined together to stop it, although he wanted to flee by attacking his captors with his fists. But between the pushes of the angry people he fell to the ground several times and was kicked.

This morning, a criminal who tried to rob an older adult was beaten on Luis Cordero and Gran Colombia streets. People who were walking around caught him and handed him over to the police.
