Matías Alejandro Guiñazú (44) stabbed María Soledad Ibáñez (44) to death after she decided to end their relationship and asked him to leave her house. It was a very conflictive situation with my daughter and this man. For some time she had wanted to end the relationship and I told him that she could not be here. He pretended to be nice and that's how he ended it". These are the words of Margarita, the mother of María Soledad Ibáñez.
I never thought this could happen. He helped us, he was kind, he ran errands for me. It can't be that it came to this extreme", she lamented in declarations to Radio Continental.
Judicial sources confirmed to Clarín that Soledad had not denounced Guiñazú, but he did have previous complaints from his previous partner. Guiñazú, nicknamed "Hueso", had two daughters, one 18 and the other 10 years old, who lived with their mother. She had already denounced him for gender violence and had a restriction of approach, so he could not have any link with them.

The savage crime, which occurred last Sunday, was discovered after the Bonaerense Police went to a house in the town of Merlo after 911 calls from neighbors who had heard a loud argument, screams and calls for help coming from inside a house located on 500 José Martí Street.

Upon arrival, the officers knocked on the door, but no one answered. Then, they decided to look out of a window leading to a room: it was then that they saw a man and a woman wrapped in blood. It was the scene of a femicide, which was recorded in a shocking video.

In the images accessed by Infobae, it can be seen that the femicide was sitting and had a knife in his hands. Next to him lay the victim, Soledad Ibáñez, lying face down, without moving. The man had the knife against his neck and was threatening to take his own life. The policemen tried to dissuade him. "Don't get up, stay still," one of the police officers asked him from outside, while others tried to enter the property.

"Here they come looking for me. Kill me, that's what I want," Guiñazú replied. Immediately afterwards, the uniformed man shouted several times: "Drop the knife! Now!". But the detainee refused. "I'm not going to throw it away (...) I'm not going to throw anything, I said. Kill me", he said and also asked to "film everything".

Faced with the refusal, the police began to fire non-lethal ammunition at the suspect. The perpetrator of the femicide, however, remained adamant, reiterating his desire to be shot: "Kill me. One shot in the head, please. With a good shot in the head. Finally, they managed to reduce him.

Medical personnel later confirmed the death of the victim, who had at least 25 stab wounds in his body. Meanwhile, Guiñazú was taken to the Hospital Héroes de Malvinas, where he was hospitalized due to several self-inflicted stab wounds.

The man, according to the victim's mother, was unemployed and her daughter took him to the house they shared "so that he could get comfortable". This Easter Sunday, while Margarita was visiting a friend, Guiñazú stabbed his partner and tried to take his own life.
