(Dan Tri) - A dental worker warned the construction team that there was a smell of gas in the closed house, but the team ignored it and continued to work as usual, and then an explosion occurred.

On the afternoon of July 16, Vinh Phuc Provincial Police released initial information about the explosion that occurred the same morning at shophouse (a house combined with business) CH2.1 in The City Light building (Khai Quang ward, Vinh Yen city, Vinh Phuc) which left 8 people injured and severely burned (not 7 people as initially reported).

The shophouse is rented by a Korean man from a business and is in the process of installing equipment to prepare for the opening of a Korean hot pot restaurant.

According to the police, when the group of workers arrived at the house to work, the house's windows were still closed. At that time, Mr. Nguyen Huu Xep - an employee of Oze Dental Clinic in the house next door - detected the smell of gas.

Mr. Xep warned and reminded the repair team, but the group ignored him and still entered the house to continue the construction.

The explosion, suspected to be caused by a gas leak, injured 8 people, including: Duong Quoc B. (born 1991), Duong Quoc H. (born 1987), Duong Xuan T. (born 1996) - all residing in Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc;
