A 57-year-old woman, who was walking along Rua Barata Ribeiro, in Copacabana, in the South Zone of Rio, was punched in the face by a homeless man. The case happened this Wednesday (26). Security camera footage captured the victim being attacked.

In the images, it is possible to observe the exact moment in which the man, identified as Felipe da Silva Santos, 39 years old, approaches and hits the victim in the face. Then, the woman falls to the ground and he walks away calmly. Woman is attacked in Copacabana:

Felipe was arrested shortly afterwards by agents from the Tourist Areas Police Battalion (BPTur) and taken to the Copacabana police station. He already had convictions for theft from a commercial establishment, sexual harassment and robbery. In total, there are 11 passages. The assaulted woman needed to receive treatment at the neighborhood UPA. She was transferred to a private hospital, where she remained until the last update of this report.
