Mert Torun (21) was injured when he was hit in the head with an adze in a fight over a debt issue in Tokat. The fight was recorded on security camera.
In the incident that took place in Cumhuriyet Neighborhood Government Street in Tokat, Mert Torun, Bekir Y. (25) and Samet C. (25) argued on the phone and cursed over the receivables issue. After a while, Bekir Y. and Samet C. attacked Mert Torun, whom they met on the road. Samet C. hit Mert Torun's head and then his legs several times with the adze in his hand. Those moments were reflected on the security camera.
Upon notice, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured Mert Torun was taken to Erbaa State Hospital by ambulance, and after his intervention there, he was transferred to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Hospital.
Bekir Y. and Samet C., who escaped after the incident in Tokat, were caught by the police in a short time. It was learned that Samet C., one of the suspects, said in his statement that Mert Torun swore at him on the phone and that was why he attacked him. After their procedures at the police station, 2 suspects were sent to the courthouse.
