A camera mounted in the drivers' cabin captures the tragic incident in all its horror.
In the video, the train pulls into a station in Yokohama, Japan, before a man can be seen pushing his way in front of waiting passengers.
Before the driver can react, the suicidal man wearing a red top jumps from the platform in front of the speeding locomotive.
The train hits him with such force that his head smashes the cabin's glass window -- just inches from the stunned operator.
Other passengers can be seen reacting with shock as the train slows to a halt.
The shaken train driver can then be seen making an announcement to customers informing them of the incident.
