Seconds Danramil Aradide Lt. Oktovianus was shot dead by TPNPB, OPM spokesperson: We are ready for war!

TRIBUN-PAPUA.COM, JAYAPURA - Commander of Koramil Aradide, Kodim 1703-04/Deiyai, Lt. Inf Oktovianus Sogalrey died at the hands of the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) - Free Papua Organization (OPM) .

Lieutenant Oktovianus was shot in the Pasir Putih area, Aradide District, when he was about to pick up a shipment of goods to the port on Wednesday (10/4/2024) at 17.00 WIT.

TPNPB-OPM Spokesperson Sebby Sambom stated that his party was responsible for the death of Lt. Inf Oktovianus Sogalrey in Paniai Regency , Central Papua .

The victim himself is a native Papuan.

Sebby said Oktovianus was shot on the Trans Paniai-Intan Jaya road, by TPNPB Operations Commander Major Osea Satu Boma and his troops.

Sebby announced the Paniai area as an area prone to armed conflict between the TPNPB and the joint TNI-Polri apparatus.

He also appealed to non-Papuan people to immediately leave this area.

"If you don't pay attention then you are part of the Indonesian Security Forces , and will become our target," he said.

It was said that on Wednesday (10/4/2024) afternoon the deceased left the Koramil Headquarters 1703-4/Aradide.

However, the victim did not return until the next day.

 

"Furthermore, a search was carried out and finally the deceased was found dead because he was attacked and shot by OPM," said Candra, Friday (12/4/2024).

In the video circulating on social media, the victim is allegedly seen riding a motorbike alone.

Then, several gunshots were heard coming from the side of the video recorder towards the victim.

In the recording, the victim, who had fallen and was helpless, was again attacked with a sharp weapon.

"The bodies were evacuated to Enarotali and then taken to Nabire," said Chandra.

Operation Commander of TPNPB Kodap XIII Kegepa Nipouda Paniai, Osea Satu Boma reminded the joint TNI-Polri officers not to comb civilians.

Osea challenged the joint forces to fight openly.

This is because the shooting was claimed by his party as a form of war, a stage towards total revolution, in order to gain independence.

"We are not asking for money, positions or development and so on. But as a form of our resistance against our enemies, namely the TNI-Polri," he said.

His party also rejects any form of development by the Indonesian government on the land of Papua.

Osea Boma issued a death threat to native Papuans involved in helping the TNI-Polri through espionage against TPNPB activities.

"Whatever happens, don't look for civilians, but look for us TPNPB troops, because that's all we TPNPB troops are doing as a form of resistance to repel the Indonesian government's occupation of Papua," he said. (*)
