On Friday afternoon, at kilometer 174 of the Matagalpa-Waslala highway , in the La Estrella community, there was a traffic accident in which two men traveling on a motorcycle crashed into a metal fence, one of them losing his life.

The identity of the deceased is Holman Argenis Blandón Dávila, 28 years old. The deceased was originally from the company in the municipality of La Dalia. The deceased was accompanied by José Javier Méndez Hernández, who was severely injured and suffered a fracture in one of his feet.

It is not known what caused the accident, however, TN8 learned that the driver of the motorcycle was speeding and drunk. Upon reaching the place in question, there is a curve known as "La Vuelta del Perol" where the motorcycle apparently lost control of the two-wheeler, impacting against the retaining fence.

As a result of the strong impact against the fence, the driver was severely bruised and injured in the abdomen caused by the edge of the metal fence. Immediately, the locals provided first aid and immediately called the ambulance, who upon arriving at the scene could not do anything for the driver; while the passenger was taken to the Hospital Héroes y Mártires San José de las Mulas, Matagalpa.

The cause of death was hemorrhage caused by wounds to the thorax, which affected multiple vital organs.
