Monitoring camera footage recorded the moment a homeless man, who was sleeping on a public road in Paiçandu, in the north of Paraná, was hit by a car. The driver did not render aid, according to the Civil Police.
The case was reported on Saturday afternoon (13), in Rua Cabo Antônio José Alves, in Jardim Santa Efigênia.
In the video, it is possible to see the boy lying with his arms and legs spread in the middle of the road and, seconds later, a black car approaches and runs over the victim with both wheels and drives away.
According to Gustavo Mendes, the police officer in charge of the case, the driver did not help the victim.
Teams from the Integrated Emergency Trauma Care Service (Siate) were called, but the victim died at the scene.
Hours later, a woman approached the Military Police (MP) claiming to be the driver of the vehicle that hit the man.
She is due to give evidence on Monday (15) and an investigation will be opened, according to the police chief.
