The first day of 2024 began with two new crimes in the Chicago neighborhood, Trujillo. Two young men were drinking beer outside a business when they were riddled with bullets by a hitman. The incident was recorded by security cameras.

The ruthless attack took place at around 5:46 in the afternoon of January 1st. The victims were identified as Roger León Salinas (43) and Renato Castillo Crisanto (23), who were drinking alcohol and listening to music with a group of people.

According to security cameras, the tranquility was interrupted when a young man appeared wearing a blue hooded sweater, a cap and glasses. The subject approached the group, pulled out a firearm and fired at point blank range.

Renato Castillo was shot several times in the head and was left lying in the middle of the track. Meanwhile, Leon Salinas ran and was hit by gunfire at the door of the store. The latter was hit in the leg and waist.

Among the wounded were Luis Pérez Rodríguez (18) and his brother Franco Pérez Rodríguez (19), and Manuel Alfaro Medina (23). They were rushed to the Belen Hospital in Trujillo.

Finally, the Criminalistics personnel of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) arrived at the scene to collect evidence in order to identify the hitman who killed the two young men. The PNP does not rule out the possibility that it was a settling of scores.
