The man who assaulted and knocked a 13-year-old child to the ground, in a park in the municipality of Hunedoara, was arrested on Monday evening.
The Hunedoara Court decided on the preventive arrest for 30 days of the individual who caused the minor a skull fracture. The incident happened on Sunday around 15:00. Disturbed by a 13-year-old child who had had a dispute with his girlfriend's 8-year-old son, a 29-year-old man picked him up and slammed him to the ground as the children and parents at the scene watched in horror. One of them filmed the whole scene and another notified the police.
The individual who assaulted the two children at the playground is the cohabitant of the eight-year-old boy's mother. The beaten child is in a stable condition, his life is not in danger at the moment, say the doctors who treated him. "He has a head injury, with a fracture of the occipital bone, which, following the discussion with the neurosurgery staff in Timișoara and the images that were sent, does not require surgical intervention," said Lucian Miron, medical director at the Deva County Hospital .
The police initially opened a criminal case for beatings and other violence, family violence, disturbing the peace and public order. The General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Hunedoara and the Directorate of Social Assistance (DAS) within Hunedoara City Hall launched social investigations at the homes of the two children. For the family of the eight-year-old child, with whose mother the aggressor lives in cohabitation, the measure of protection has already been arranged in a maternal center in the municipality of Hunedoara.
