Jhonny Enrique Berrío Pérez , one of the 5 workers at a store in the El Cortijo neighborhood , in Sincelejo, was shot to death at the beginning of the afternoon of this Friday, December 22.

The man, witnesses say, was in the Las Vegas store , one of the largest and with more than 40 years in the sector, when a man arrived and shot him several times in the head and back while he was attending to the business. 2:00 in the afternoon.

After his crime, the criminal fled on the motorcycle on which his accomplice was waiting for him , while the neighbors waited for the arrival of the CAI Tacaloa patrol , which is less than 5 blocks away, and which was the one that transported him, very badly injured. to the emergency room at the Social Health Clinic , where he died minutes later.

The fact has dismayed the residents of the sector who remember Jhonny Enrique as a kind, helpful man and the right hand of the store owner.

In rejection of this fact and the wave of insecurity that hits Sucre and more so Sincelejo, the residents of the El Cortijo neighborhood scheduled a vigil for this Friday night in one of the small squares in the area.

With the crime of Jhonny Enrique, the total number of homicides in the department of Sucre rises to 325, that is, 117 more cases than there were in 2022. Of the 325 crimes, 146 have occurred in Sincelejo.
