The incident happened on Thursday 14th December, Bairro Trapiche, Santo Amaro, Bahia.

Civil police are investigating the authorship and motivation of the perpetrators of the execution after being alerted to the scene in the early hours of the morning to Rua de Iara by tip-offs. The male victim, only known by the initials '' T. D. L'' aged twenty five years old, had been beaten all whilst his hands were tied, and then shot several times.

He was confirmed dead by both SAMU and the police on their arrival. The victim had sustained multiple marks and bruising to his body, most done whilst he was alive.

There were no witnesses to the murder, only those that had heard gunfire and stayed indoors. His body was examined at the scene before being taken away for an autopsy. Bullet casings were found and collected, and the scene thoroughly searched for any other evidence. They are also checking of all reports of missing persons and any witnesses to abductions, in case it provides more information in their investigation

A few hours after the crime had been committed, police were alerted to a video that had been posted online, showing the moment the victim was shot by at least three people, recorded by one of the perpetrators who shot the victim a number of times. No message was left with the recording which was removed by police for evidence. They are also seeking a male, seen in the video, who may have been a witness or connected to the crime, who as of yet has not come forward, or been found.
