Brothers die shot after riding in Ribeirão das Neves

Another man was seriously injured after attack

Two brothers, aged 20 and 24, were shot dead after returning from a horse ride in Ribeirão das Neves, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. The crime took place this Sunday (December 10). A 26-year-old man was rescued in serious condition after being hit in the shoulder and back.

A witness was in the same car as the three victims. She told the police that everyone participated in the cavalcade, in the central region of the city, and then went to a bar in the Veneza neighborhood. After the celebration, they left and, at the São Pedro neighborhood, they began to be chased by a white car.

At one point, the vehicle stopped with the car containing the victims and the suspects began shooting. The woman, who had been dating the 20-year-old for four years, managed to get out of the car. She claimed that her boyfriend and her brother had no disagreements with anyone.

According to forensics, the 20-year-old died after being hit twice in the arm. The 24-year-old man was shot in the buttock, back of the head, face and armpit. According to the Military Police, the car used in the crime was a Ford Ka with a cloned license plate. 

At the crime scene, forensic experts collected 9mm caliber ammunition. A sum of money that was in one of the brothers' pockets was handed over to the witness, as well as the victims' cell phones. The incident was forwarded to the 10th Homicide Police Station in Ribeirão das Neves.
