One man is dead following a shooting in East Port of Spain this morning.
Up to midday, full details of the incident were still coming in as police are still on the scene.
However, from initial reports, the deceased has been identified as Jason Alexander.
Police said around 8am Friday morning, a group of friends were said to be liming along St Paul Street in the vicinity of Rodney Street when a black BMW pulled up next to them.
Two masked men exited the car and opened fire on the group.
The suspects then returned to the vehicle.
In the aftermath, Alexander and two other men were found bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.
Alexander, however, suffered fatal injuries to his head and died on the scene.
The two injured victims were taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment
One man is said to be in a critical condition having been shot in the abdomen.
The other reportedly suffered gunshot wounds to his legs.
Police found the black BMW used in the shooting abandoned near the Maritime Roundabout in Barataria shortly after.
Officers from the Port of Spain Division and the Homicide Bureau are currently on location.
