Four people lost their lives and another remains with a reserved prognosis due to a traffic accident on the Piñas-Portovelo road, in the upper part of the province of El Oro.

The incident occurred at 2:55 p.m. this Friday, August 25, in the area known as Cazaderos.

Elements of the Ecuadorian Transit Commission (CTE) and the Piñas Fire Department arrived at the scene of the emergency to assist the victims; however, they were observed in dismay, due to how one of the vehicles had been left.

The exact circumstances that led to the accident have not yet been clarified, but preliminary reports indicate that the tanker lost control and collided with a light vehicle, which was completely crushed, with its occupants inside.

A video shared on social networks shows the magnitude of the event. In the place where the windows were located, two extremities could be seen. This alarmed the onlookers who approached the place and reported that the heavy vehicle passed over them.
