that’s disgusting
This isn't disgusting, but it does look mighty painful, uncomfortable, annoying, and utterly life changing.
I had to search up about it.
And what I learned incase you too are curious:
"Neurofibromas are benign, or non-cancerous, tumors that grow on nerves."
That alone sounds awful.
"Plexiforms are neurofibromas that spread around large nerves as they grow, causing the nerve to become thick and misshapen. They feel like knots or cords under the skin. They can be large, painful, and disfiguring."
"One in 4 persons with NF1 experience chronic pain that can persist for months to years and characterized as a painful peripheral sensory neuropathy."
"The mast cells can release histamine which causes the neurofibromas to itch or hurt."
"Itching sometimes happens in NF1 and no one knows why this is so. "
I hope that, if the video is not old, and he hasn't already been helped by someone, then i hope some Dr with the ability to help, sees the video and tries to reach out to help him.
I remember seeing a documentary on YouTube called "My Skin is Killing Me" and though the man on there had a different skin issue, I'm sure the devastating impact on their lives and self esteem is similar.
Just hope someone will help this man, assuming he indeed wants help, which if they are painful, of course he would.
