A man was riddled with shots inside a warehouse by hitmen who arrived aboard a white car.

The attack occurred on Thursday night in the San Gerardo neighborhood of Pedro Juan Caballero, Department of Amambay.

The fatal victim was identified as Rubén Darío Morel Santacruz, 41 years old.

According to the police report, the man received 15 bullet wounds from a 9-millimeter pistol.

The crime occurred inside a warehouse, Última Hora journalist Marciano Candia reported.

Morel Santacruz had an outstanding arrest warrant for a homicide act and it was also for a case of assassination, explained Deputy Commissioner José María Ortiz.

According to a witness, Morel Santacruz left his home located on the same block.

The hitmen were traveling in a white car and, upon seeing the victim enter the scene, one of them got out and went directly to him, firing several shots.

The man died at the site after being shot in the face, chest and abdomen, said forensic doctor Lucas Riveros.

"He has approximately 15 bullet wounds and it affected the face more, he had a loss of brain mass and that is what leads you to death the fastest," he continued.
