A 24-year-old Malick man was shot and killed after he told relatives that he was going to meet a friend nearby on Sunday afternoon.
Police said Kelum Williams was at his Upper Sixth Avenue, Malick, home at around 1 pm when he asked a relative to take out food for him.
He told the relative he was going to meet a friend nearby and would be back shortly.
At around 1.30 pm officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force were on patrol when they received a report of gunshots on Upper Sixth Avenue, near Valley Drive.
Police went to the scene and found Williams bleeding on the road.
They took him to hospital where he was declared dead at around 1.45 pm.
Morvant police and homicide investigators visited the scene and found 11 spent 9 mm shells.
