A barangay councilor of Cabay, Tiaong, Quezon is dead after being shot by three unidentified suspects.

In the CCTV footage of the shooting in Barangay Kagawad of Cabay, the incident happened at around five in the afternoon of June 28, 2023 in Sitio Ilaya, Brgy. Cabay, Tiaong, Quezon.

In the Tiaong PNP report, the victim was identified as Ricky Ambita Galangga, 44 y/o Brgy. Councilor of the aforementioned Barangay.

In the police investigation, the officials allegedly had a meeting at their Brgy Hall. The victim was in front of Brgy Hall when two motorcycles arrived and suddenly one of the passengers of the said motorcycle approached the victim and for unknown reasons pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times. The victim sustained a bullet wound in the right chest.

The suspects, after their crime, got on their motorcycle and fled to San Juan Batangas with the weapon used.

Seven pieces of 9mm cartridges and one (1) piece of 9mm caliber live ammo were recovered from the crime scene.

The victim was immediately rushed to the Peter Paul Medical Center of Candelaria but he died.

The Tiaong PNP also immediately conducted a Checkpoint at the possible exit of the suspects, the CCTV footage is said to be of great help to be used in the pursuit of the suspects.

The authorities continue to conduct a hot pursuit operation through the Intelligence network for the possible arrest of the suspects.
