A woman was run over and killed by a bus on Avenida dos Autonomistas, in Osasco, in Greater São Paulo, this Tuesday morning (31). The driver was removed from duty.

Security cameras recorded the moment when the woman in the light T-shirt runs across the crosswalk and is hit by the bus that makes the conversion.

After the collision, the bus continued down the avenue. Police did not say whether the driver had stopped to render assistance.

SPTrans informed that it called the company responsible for the driver of the bus with prefix 82.721, of line 874C/10 Pq. Continental - Metro Trianon Masp.

"The SPTRANS Transport Accident Reduction Program (PRAT) has already identified the driver of the concessionary company, who has already been removed. SPTrans is at the disposal of the police authorities to provide clarifications on whatever is requested", says the note.

The company also repudiated the driver's behavior, "which is not consistent with the conduct expected of a professional in the public transport system".

When his behavior is not in line with what is required by SPTrans, the operator is removed from his duties, and must undergo psychological, physical and mental health tests, in addition to the defensive driving course, to be released to return to activity.

The purpose of the training is to make operators aware of the role they play in the city's transport system, focusing on safe driving and user service, with special attention to pedestrians, people with disabilities, the elderly, motorcyclists, cyclists, among others.
