MUMBAI: A 24-year-old woman, Renuka Yadav, jumped in front of a train
with her three-year-old daughter in Bhayander on Friday. Yadav and her
child, Aarohi, were declared dead. Her husband was later arrested by the
Navghar police on charges of abetment and cruelty. In a CCTV footage
clip of the incident, the woman can be seen looking out for a train and
jumping in front of one from platform no. 4 with the child.
Yadav lived in Gavdevi area in Bhayander. The GRP had handed over the
case to the city police after Yadav's family said that she had been
harassed. The couple had tied the knot in 2014 and the husband-wife had
a fight the day she killed herself and her child, the police said.
In another incident, the dismembered body of a 50-year-old man, Adyaprasad Yadav, who was knocked down by a train, was
found near Kanjurmarg early on Sunday. The Kurla GRP is probing whether it was a case of suicide.
