A 36-year-old man was detained by the PSP indicted for the death of his companion, following an argument, on Sunday night, in Odivelas. Victim struck with a broken bottle.

According to preliminary information, the couple got involved in an argument in a cafe on Rua Guilherme Gomes Fernandes, in Odivelas. The quarrel extended to the street, where the 38-year-old woman was to be killed.

According to the first indications, the woman would have been beaten to death in the street. A source from the Lisbon PSP command explained to JN that, according to preliminary data, the man broke a bottle that he used to hit the woman in the body, hitting her in the neck area, causing her death.

The alert was given at 9.50 pm on Sunday. Upon the arrival of the PSP, the rescue means were at the scene performing basic life support maneuvers on the victim, who had a wound in the neck area, having died, reports a statement from the PSP.

"A security perimeter was quickly carried out, to ensure the means of evidence as well as identify witnesses and prevent the suspect from escaping. In this way, it was possible to identify and capture the alleged murderer, who was trying to flee the scene", explains the document.

The investigation of the murder was transferred to the Judiciary Police. The detainee will be presented this Monday at the Loures Criminal Investigation Court.
