Incident happend at Turkey, Ankara.

The mobile phone camera footage of the accident in which Cengiz Gültekin (45), 

the director of Çancılar İmam Hatip Secondary School in Manisa's Ahmetli district, 

died while paragliding in Ankara's Ayaş district, has emerged. It was observed that 

Gültekin fell from a height of 20 meters on the slope because the wing of the parachute did not open.

Known for his interest in paragliding, Cengiz Gültekin, the director of Çancılar 

İmam Hatip Secondary School, jumped with a paraglider at the parachute hill location 

in Ankara's Ayaş district yesterday with a group. Married and father of 2 children, 

Gültekin fell to the ground after a while and died. Gültekin's body was taken to 

Kütahya by his family after the autopsy procedures at the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute.

While the investigation into the incident was started, the images of the accident taken 

with the mobile phone camera appeared. In the video, it was seen that Cengiz Gültekin 

was thrown in the air because the wing of his parachute did not open and fell rapidly 

from a height of 20 meters onto the slope. Meanwhile, the person who took the footage 

was heard saying "Open it", referring to the parachute. After Gültekin fell to the ground, 

the first response of the people around was also reflected on the mobile phone camera. 

In the video, it was seen that Gultekin was given CPR, while other paragliding 

athletes were experiencing great sadness.

On the other hand, it was stated that the accident occurred as a result of pilot error, 

the weather conditions were suitable and there were other paragliders in the air at that time.
