Pictures and videos of what’s believed to be mob justice have gone viral on social media. It is alleged that the suspect attempted to abduct a child in Parkwood early this morning.

In the graphic visuals, residents are seen setting a car alight off the M5 on Hyde road. The body of a deceased man is seen stripped part naked and is burning next to the vehicle. In one video, residents approach the body and prod at it.

Cape {town} Etc contacted the SAPS who confirmed the incident. Grassy Park police responded to a complaint at around 11am.

Upon arrival at the scene, they found a Toyota Avanza in flames and the body of an unknown man who succumbed to death as a result of injuries sustained due to the fire. According to reports, three unknown males were driving in the area in a Toyota Avanza when they were attacked by community members who then set the vehicle alight. Two of the males that were in the vehicle managed to flee the scene.

The suspect is yet to be arrested. The motive for the attack is unknown.
